The Falcons stayed mostly clean on the injury front during Sunday's 23-20 loss to the visiting Tampa Bay Buccaneers , but lost a key player in Drake London (shoulder) toward the end of the contest.
London went down at a crucial moment during the game, landing awkwardly on what appeared to be a touchdown pass that was ultimately overturned. The wideout headed to the sideline afterward and did not return to the game, though quarterback Michael Penix Jr. ultimately was able to take the ball in himself for a short touchdown.
There's no question Atlanta would have liked to have had London back in the fold -- especially in the absence of Darnell Mooney -- when the team marched down the field in the last 59 seconds in a drive that ultimately ended in a missed 44-yard field goal by Younghoe Koo .
London, who has been an impact player for the Falcons since he was selected by the team at No. 8 overall in the 2022 NFL draft, finished the game with eight receptions for 55 yards. He comes off of a 2024 season in which he caught 100 passes for 1,271 yards with nine touchdowns.
Head coach Raheem Morris said after the game that he did not have an update on London's status, and that he only knew that he had suffered a shoulder injury.
