The Los Angeles Lakers have had some all-time legends put on the purple and gold.

It is only a matter of time before these players realize they just can’t compete in the NBA anymore.

Whether it be of old age, injury, or just not being up to the level of competition as their opponents, everyone's NBA career eventually comes to an end.

Recently, a former Laker who may not be a legend signed overseas to continue his professional career, according to Donatas Urbonas of Basket News.

“Former Lakers and Knicks forward Matt Ryan is finalizing an agreement with Dubai Basketball, per sources,” Urbonas said Saturday.

Ryan was undrafted in the 2020 draft, but eventually signed with the Boston Celtics , where he appeared in one game in the 2021-2022 season.

During that offseason, the Lakers took a chance on Ryan, and he made the team's final 15-man roster for the 2022-2023 season.

Ryan appeared in 12 games for the team, averaging 3.9 points per game in 10.8 minutes.

If the name rings a bell, it is because he infamously hit a game-tying cross-court three-pointer with just 1.3 seconds left in late 2022.

Since then, Ryan has suited up for the Minnesota Timberwolves , New Orleans Pelicans , and most recently, the New York Knicks.

Ryan entered this season as a free agent, but after some consideration, he has decided to continue playing in Dubai.
