Boston (71-59) defeated New York (69-60), 12-1, Saturday at Yankee Stadium in Bronx, New York.
Former Vol Garrett Crochet (14-5) started for the Red Sox and earned his 14th win in 2025. He pitched seven innings and recorded 11 strikeouts. Crochet totaled 103 pitches, including 72 strikeouts, against 27 batters. 18 strikes were on a first pitch.

Crochet also recorded his 500th career strikeout. He is the first Boston pitcher since Eduardo Rodríguez in 2019 to exceed 200 strikeouts in a season.
The former Vol is in his first season with the Red Sox .
Crochet was traded from the White Sox to Boston during the offseason. He played for Chicago from 2020-24 and appeared in 105 games, including 33 starts. Crochet (9-19) recorded 296 strikeouts in four seasons with Chicago.
He was selected by the White Sox in the 2020 MLB draft (No. 11 overall).
