The Baltimore Ravens announced on Tuesday that they are adding more depth to the cornerback position, agreeing to a deal with Chidobe Awuzie . The Tennessee Titans released Awuzie on March 15. Awuzie signed a three-year contract with the Titans last March but only played with the team for one season.
He'll now join a Ravens squad looking to make a deep playoff run and needing a veteran presence after Brandon Stephens signed a lucrative deal with the Jets . A second-round pick out of Colorado in 2017, Awuzie started his career with the Dallas Cowboys .

The Ravens needed a cornerback
Baltimore only had four cornerbacks on its roster, with Marlon Humphrey , Nate Wiggins , Jalyn Armour-Davis , and T.J. Tampa as potential starters. Ravens GM Eric DeCosta could still add multiple cornerbacks in the draft, but Awuzie provides depth.
Ravens won't lose a compensatory pick
Awuzie was released by the Titans ten days ago, so he won't count toward the compensatory pick formula, which is essential to the Ravens' roster-building strategy.
Ravens save cash
Ian Rapoport reports it's a minimum deal for Baltimore, as Tennessee still owes Awuzie $7.5 million for the 2025 season.

Awuzie is accomplished
The 29-year-old Awuzie is an eight-year veteran who has started 81 career games and is familiar with the AFC North. Awuzie played for the Cincinnati Bengals for three seasons from 2021 to 2023. His best season came in 2021, when he started a career-high 14 games and logged two interceptions, 64 tackles, and 14 passes defensed. He was Pro Football Focus's 23rd-highest graded cornerback.
