Tennessee defensive lineman James Pearce Jr. received a new 2025 NFL draft projection following the Vols' pro day .
USA TODAY projects the former Vol to Philadelphia with the No. 32 overall pick in the first round.
"Replenishing the pass rush is sure to be a goal for Howie Roseman in the draft after Josh Sweat and Milton Williams both signed big-money deals elsewhere," Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz of USA TODAY said . "Pearce might prove to be a polarizing prospect given questions about whether he can be an every-down edge rusher, but his explosiveness might be hard for Philadelphia to pass up."
Derek Barnett was the last Vol to be selected in the first round by the Eagles with the 14th overall pick in 2017. Though he began his career in the USFL, hall of famer Reggie White also played his first eight seasons in the NFL with Philadelphia.
Draft Wire previously projected Pearce Jr. to Dallas with the No. 12 overall pick and then down to No. 19 with Tampa Bay .
