After going down with what looked like a serious knee injury during the final minutes of the New York Jets ' 13-11 loss to the Denver Broncos , star wide receiver Garrett Wilson has landed a major injury update heading into Week 7.
Breaking the news on Wilson's status heading into Carolina Panthers Week, ESPN reporter Rich Cimini revealed the length of time the Pro Bowler could miss, which is potentially notable but far from the worst-case scenario .
"WR Garrett Wilson underwent an MRI today and appears to have avoided a serious knee injury, per source, but it probably still means some down time," Cimini wrote. "Worth noting that the Jets have two more games (CAR, at CIN) before their bye. Perhaps that factors into the timetable."
Heading into the 2025 season with massive expectations, both personal and from a franchise perspective, Wilson and the Jets have been under a dark cloud that won't seem to dissipate. After catching seven balls on nine targets for 95 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 during a shootout against former QB1 Aaron Rodgers , Wilson's production cratored out in Week 6, catching just three of the eight balls thrown his way for 13 total yards.

Granted, Justin Fields only completed nine of his 17 passing attempts for 45 yards, finishing the game with -10 passing yards after being sacked nine times for -55 yards, but Wilson's longest reception was only seven yards, which, considering he caught eight more balls for six more yards combined, it's clear something isn't working in the Big Apple.
With some time off to get his knee right, it will be incredibly interesting to see what the Jets look like when Wilson returns to the field, as after a brutal loss in Week 6, it's clear something has to change in New York.
