The Los Angeles Chargers snapped a two-game skid and improved to 4-2 with a win over the Miami Dolphins in Week 6. The victory had everything to do with Justin Herbert and Ladd McConkey , who connected late to set up Cameron Dicker's game-winner in the final seconds.
After the Dolphins took the lead with 46 seconds remaining, Herbert had just one timeout to work with on the Chargers' final drive. After a near-sack on first down, Herbert broke multiple tackles in the backfield before finding McConkey down the far sideline, who took the ball into the red zone.
The play was all the Chargers needed to put the game away. After a few runs, Dicker nailed a 33-yard field goal with five seconds remaining to give Los Angeles the much-needed victory.
Dicker was a perfect 5-for-5 from the field in the game and 2-for-2 on extra points.
The win was also made possible by Nyheim Hines , who gave the Chargers excellent field position with a 40-yard kickoff return.
With leading receiver Quentin Johnston sitting out due to injury , McConkey returned to his former role as Herbert's go-to target. The second-year slot receiver ended the game with 100 of Herbert's 264 passing yards and a touchdown.
The Dolphins had one final last-ditch effort at the end of the game, but found no success. With just five seconds remaining, Miami attempted to gain a few yards to set up a Hail Mary, but Tua Tagovailoa instead threw his third interception of the game.

The win was exactly what the doctor ordered for the Chargers to get back on track. Los Angeles initially looked like Super Bowl contenders after its 3-0 start, but dropped its last two games to the New York Giants and Washington Commanders .
The loss simultaneously dropped Miami to 1-5 on the year. With Tyreek Hill already ruled out for the year, the Dolphins could not be off to a worse start to the 2025 season.
Herbert's victory also allowed him to even the score in his head-to-head record against Tagovailoa. The quarterbacks entered the league in the same draft class and are now 2-2 against each other.
