The Lakers built a 20-point lead in the second half thanks to the hot shooting of Jake LaRavia before the Wolves mounted a comeback to take the lead in the final seconds on a Julius Randle layup. However, Austin Reaves wasn't going to let the Lakers lose. He drilled a floater in the lane at the buzzer to send Los Angeles home with a 116-115 win.
The Lakers were playing this game without both LeBron James and Luka Doncic , both of whom are out with injury. However, Reaves continued his incredible hot streak in their absence and capped it off with one of the best clutch shots of the young season so far.
Reaves did everything for the Lakers in this game, especially on offense, without their two superstars. He finished with 28 points on 9-for-24 shooting to go with 16 assists, tying a career-high, in 40 minutes. His buzzer-beater is also the first game-winner at the horn in the NBA this season.

This is just the latest epic moment for Reaves in what has been an incredible start to the season for him. The 27-year old scored 51 points and was one assist shy of a triple-double in a win over the Sacramento Kings before dropping 41 more points in a loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday. Now, he has capped off one of his best games ever as a playmaker with a clutch game-winner to get the Lakers to 3-2 on the season.
LaRavia was also a big key in the win for Los Angeles, finishing with 27 points on 10-for-11 shooting, including five 3-pointers.Rui Hachimura and Deandre Ayton both added 17 in the win.
The Timberwolves were also shorthanded in this game as Anthony Edwards sat on the bench with a hamstring injury . Despite 33 points from Randle and 30 from Jaden McDaniels , Minnesota couldn't complete the comeback on its home floor and now drops to 2-3.
