- What We Learned at NFL Combine: Stock Up Prospects & Steelers Targets
Texas WR Matthew Golden
Over the past decade, the NFL Combine has become one of the biggest sports spectacles. For over 300 prospects, this is the most important job interview of their life. Each NFL team, including the Pittsburgh Steelers organization , is gathering as much information as possible about the person off the field as much as the player in pads. It gives us clues about where the team is looking to make significant additions and luckily for them, this defensive line and running back class has a plethora of options to choose from.
SN analyst Derrick Bell and co-host Nick Martin break down what really matters from the event, how to parse through the bevy of information that becomes available and how it factors into their evaluation process. This video also tackles which prospects impressed the most, whether in the media interview process, athletic testing or field drills. Perhaps most importantly, they dive into which formal prospect meetings intrigue them the most, specifically highlighting some out of the box targets that we may not have expected coming into the week. Here's everything you need know about what I saw and heard at the NFL Combine in Indy.
