Dan Jackson 's rookie season with the Detroit Lions is over before it starts. The Lions placed the safety from Georgia on injured reserve with a leg injury.
Jackson, a seventh-rounder, injured the leg on Sunday. No immediate details of the injury are available, but the status on injured reserve means that Jackson will not play for Detroit in 2025.
He had been repping consistently with the second-team defense and also contributing on multiple special teams units. To take Jackson's spot on the roster in the secondary, the Lions signed UFL standout CB D.J. Miller, who played for the Michigan Panthers most recently. Miller played collegiately at Kent State and Iowa State and went undrafted in 2024.
The Lions also waived undrafted rookie Kye Robichaux, who had missed the last week with a shoulder injury.
