BATON ROUGE – LSU women's basketball will close out the regular season without one of its stars and leading scorer when it hosts Ole Miss on Sunday afternoon (3 p.m., SEC Network).
Junior guard Flau'jae Johnson will miss the final game of the regular season for the No. 7 Tigers (27-3, 12-3 SEC) inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. Johnson is listed as "out" on LSU's student-athlete availability report, which is mandated by the Southeastern Conference and was released Saturday night.
It is unclear why Johnson will sit out LSU's matchup with Ole Miss (18-9, 9-6).
Johnson scored a season-low six points in the the Tigers' 88-85 overtime loss at No. 20 Alabama Thursday night but she played 37 minutes before fouling out during the overtime period. On the play that she fouled out on, Johnson did take a hard elbow to the mouth, which bloodied her bottom lip.

KIM MULKEY ON LSU'S LOSS AT BAMA Why Kim Mulkey said LSU's overtime loss at Alabama was 'a poorly officiated game'
During her three seasons in Baton Rouge, Johnson has been very durable for Kim Mulkey and her program. She started all 36 games during her freshman season when the team won the NCAA championship. She's only missed one game during her collegiate career and that was early last season against Mississippi Valley State which was due to an illness.
Johnson has been the Tigers' leading scorer all season and is one of the top scorers in the SEC. She averages 18.9 points per game and has a 46.5% field goal percentage which is tied for second-highest among usual starters for LSU.
In Johnson's absence, Mulkey will likely opt to start Kailyn Gilbert, which would be her first career start at LSU. Gilbert has been an integral addition to the Tigers this season and has found a solid role coming off the bench where she's averaging 9.8 points per game in 18.9 minutes per game.
