- How many quarterbacks does Alabama football plan to sign in 2027 recruiting class?
ALABASTER — Trent Seaborn committed to Alabama football's 2027 recruiting class before the Crimson Tide 's home win against Tennessee Saturday, Oct. 18. And after he told Kalen DeBoer , he had a chance to celebrate with future teammates.
As Alabama participated in its "Walk of Champions" before the Crimson Tide's 37-20 win against the Volunteers, Seaborn stood on the platform above the path to Alabama 's locker room, watching the team file in with 2026 commits like five stars Cederian Morgan and Ezavier Crowell , four-star tight end Mack Sutter , three-star offensive lineman Bear Fretwell and four-star quarterback Jett Thomalla .
Those players, Seaborn said, are "all great people." Those players showcase the next wave of what Alabama could look like, a plan Seaborn is in on.

Thompson's quarterback Trent Seaborn (12) passes against Prattville during their game in Prattville, Ala., on Friday October 24, 2025.
Alabama has two quarterbacks committed in the 2026 cycle: Thomalla and Hawaii four-star Tayden Kaawa . In the Crimson Tide's current quarterback room, Ty Simpson will have one season of eligibility left, while redshirt sophomore Austin Mack will have two, and freshman Keelon Russell will have four unless he appears in all four of Alabama's final regular-season games.

When Seaborn gets to Tuscaloosa after graduating from Thompson High School in December 2026, he wants a crowded quarterback room.
"Going to Alabama, you're always going to have to compete," Seaborn told the Tuscaloosa News. "Every single year, they are going to bring in the best guys in the country, and I think that's what is so great about that program as well is that every day, you're going to be competing for that spot. You're going to be competing with the guy next to you. It not only makes you better, but it makes the guys around you better as well."
247Sports lists four 2027 quarterbacks with Alabama offers: Seaborn, Louisiana five-star Elijah Haven, Illinois four-star and Nebraska commit Trae Taylor and Texas four-star Colton Nussmeier , whose brother is LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier .
