Minnesota Wild Get Deal Done with Disgruntled Youngster
This offseason was always going to be a pivotal one for Minnesota Wild general manager Bill Guerin. The buyouts of Zach Parise and Ryan Suter’s contracts finally fell off the books and the team had room to operate.
Unfortunately it’s been a pretty lackluster showing thus far. The MN Wild have made some moves on the fringes , but there hasn’t been a big splash. Unless Vladimir Tarasenko returns to form , the group will be hoping for big performances from plenty of familiar faces.
Kirill Kaprizov’s contract extension should be massive but hasn’t been worked out yet. That didn’t stop the Wild from getting a deal with Marco Rossi done.

Last winter Rossi rejected a five-year, $25 million deal from the Wild. He was seeking a better average annual value, but that never came to fruition. The sides moved forward together, but weird events such as his playoff demotion , certainly were difficult to watch.
Rossi returns to the Wild looking like a lock for a top-6 center role. Last season he with Matt Boldy and Vladimir Tarasenko flanking him.
The Minnesota Wild need consistency from Rossi this season, and that’s what he’ll be looking for as well. He talked with John Hynes following the playoff demotion, and hopefully it will stick for all parties moving into the season.

This is a best-case scenario given the circumstances. Now the Wild need to turn their efforts towards Kaprizov and lock up the superstar for the long haul.
