At the beginning of the 2025 the Minnesota Twins were seen as a contender to capture the AL Central crown. Fast forward to mid-summer and it was evident they would be sellers at the trade deadline.
Not only did the front office part out 40% of the roster by August 31, but they included a salary dump as well. The only remaining sliver of hope for a better future operationally was ownership selling.
Then the Pohlads took the team off the market , swindled someone into buying their debt , and announced they'd be sticking around. Fans have responded in kind.

Hatred for Pohlads draws near perfect agreement
When the Pohlad family first announced they were putting the Minnesota Twins up for sale last October, fans could not have been more excited. A recent poll ran by The Athletic shows just how aligned Twins fans are in their distaste for ownership. Of nearly 6,000 respondents, the results to a question 'Do you want the Pohlads to sell the team?' was near unanimous.

This makes it obvious why fans were so devastated by the Pohlads pulling the Twins off the market last month. Of the nearly 6,000 total responses to this question, all but 87 want the family to sell the team Carl Pohlad bought for $44 million in 1984.
It's difficult to get 98.5 percent of people to agree on pretty much anything, but the idea of the Pohlads no longer owning the Twins carries an approval rating that's probably on par with "pizza tastes good" and "dogs are cute." And as the responses to other questions show, it's part of a larger theme.
It's curious why those 87 respondents would want the Pohlad family to stick around. Then again, the family members themselves have access to the internet, and those connected to them may have opted to participate as well.
In reality though, the nearly 100% response rate suggests one thing. Minnesota Twins fans hate the Pohlads. It's a fair take. A single family has done what they can to destroy baseball in the state. Their grandfather, the only one who actually made money in business, actively accepted the position of a $250 million check simply to can the team .

It's unlikely the family will ever be forgiven, and they have done themselves no favors moving forward either. Recently, after ending a decades-long playoff drought, Joe Pohlad said they needed to " right size the business, " treated the baseball team like a hedge fund, and slashed payroll by $30 million .
MN Twins can thrive despite Pohlad grip
If there is hope for the future, it is in that the on-field product has plenty of youth to supplement the big league roster. Of course that requires the front office to put the right development pieces in place. They have accomplished that on the mound to a certain extent, but the hitting development has alluded them.
Any front office would be better able to operate with more resources at their disposal. For Derek Falvey and Jeremy Zoll, that's simply not going to happen in Minnesota. If they want to get the team back on track, it will take looking internally and winning on the fringes.

There is a path forward even if the Pohlads remain head honchos. For now that's the path Minnesota must navigate. Maybe the long term view of a sale isn't dead either , and that's a hope we can all dream on.
