- NFL’s 10 highest-paid non-QBs after Steelers EDGE T.J. Watt’s record-setting deal
After months and months of contract negotiations, T.J. Watt has just turned NFL contracts upside down — becoming the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league.
Watt's deal doesn't just break records — it reshapes the market for every non-quarterback in the NFL. On July 17, Watt signed a three-year, $123 million extension, averaging $41 million per year and leapfrogging Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase's $40.25 million.
Following Watt's record-setting deal, here's an updated look at the 10 highest-paid non-quarterbacks based on average annual salary:
Pittsburgh Steelers , T.J. Watt – $41 million per year
Cincinnati Bengals, Ja'Marr Chase – $40.25 million per year
Cleveland Browns , Myles Garrett – $40 million per year
Houston Texans , Danielle Hunter – $36.5 million per year
Las Vegas Raiders , Maxx Crosby – $35.5 million per year
Minnesota Vikings , Justin Jefferson – $35 million per year
Dallas Cowboys , CeeDee Lamb – $34 million per year
San Francisco 49ers , Nick Bosa – $34 million per year
Pittsburgh Steelers , DK Metcalf – $33 million per year
New York Jets , Garrett Wilson – $32.5 million per year
Notably absent from the list is Eagles WR A.J. Brown , who previously held the No. 10 spot with an average salary of $32 million.
While the bar is set high for non-quarterbacks in the NFL, it's only a matter of time until Cowboys star EDGE Micah Parsons breaks the record himself — which feels inevitable now that Watt has officially put pen to paper.
