Former Denver Broncos linebacker Cody Barton has agreed to terms on a three-year, $21 million contract with the Tennessee Titans , NFL Network's Tom Pelissero first reported on Monday evening.
Barton (6-2, 237 pounds) originally entered the league as a third-round pick out of Utah with the Seattle Seahawks in 2019. He spent the first three years of his career playing primarily on special teams before emerging as an 11-game starter in 2022.
After his rookie contract with Seattle expired, Barton signed a one-year deal with the Washington Commanders in 2023. He was healthy for 13 games that season and started all 13 contests, totaling 121 tackles, one pass breakup and one fumble recovery.
Barton signed a one-year, $2.5 million contract with the Broncos last spring and he went on to start 14 games last season. His 106 tackles ranked second on the team and Barton also recorded 1.5 sacks, two interceptions and returned a fumble for a touchdown.
Now 29 years old, Barton will get a fresh start in Tennessee while Denver will move forward with Alex Singleton , Drew Sanders and K.J. Cloyd. The Broncos are also in the market to sign a LB during free agency.
