The Carolina Panthers may have disappointed quite a few of their fans on Sunday evening, when we learned that they would not be the team to land two-time Pro Bowl wide receiver DK Metcalf . (Congrats, Pittsburgh.)
But they might make up for it on Monday, at the start of the legal tampering period.
On the eve of the unofficial opening of free agency, NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah tweeted the following about the Panthers:
That exciting tease may track for others across and within the NFL landscape.
Not only are the Panthers expected to be amongst the most active teams on the open market, but they also could be primed to reel in some big fish.
Here's what ESPN insider Dan Graziano wrote about Carolina's possible free-agent plans last week:
Expect the Panthers to be seeking big-name players in free agency. I think Carolina could be in on the top safeties -- Jevon Holland , Camryn Bynum , etc. -- and might be one of the teams willing to spend big to lure defensive tackle Milton Williams away from the Super Bowl champion Eagles . The Panthers will also look to add edge rush help, with Chase Young being one of the intriguing options there.
Strap in, Panthers fans. We may be in for a wild day.
