- NFL Legend Joe Montana Announces Career News on Tuesday
Joe Montana became one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history during his time with the San Francisco 49ers . From 1979 to 1992, he earned two NFL MVP awards and eight Pro Bowl selections while leading the 49ers to a perfect 4-0 record in the Super Bowl. The former Notre Dame national champion was later inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
But Montana has stayed busy since retiring from football, shifting his focus to investing. In 1999, he co-founded a venture capital fund-of-funds with former teammates Ronnie Lott and Harris Barton. After that fund folded a decade later, Montana launched another investment firm, Liquid 2 Ventures, which remains active today.
