Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin's connection to Maroon 5 on social media explained
Julian Sayin might have a new favorite band to tag along with his recent success as quarterback for Ohio State.
Following Ohio State's victory against Washington on Sept. 27, Julian Sayin posted a collection of photos from the win over the Huskies on Sept 29.
Though the caption and images themselves are normal, Sayin accompanied the post with the song "Sunday Morning" by Maroon 5, which could be a callback to a viral tweet stemming from the Texas-Ohio State game.
During the Aug. 30 game, a Twitter/X user shared a post about Sayin linking him to Maroon 5.
"Julian Sayin plays football like he is listening to Maroon 5 in his AirPods," the user wrote on Twitter/X.
Supposedly, Sayin himself posted the tweet on his Instagram story following the win against Texas in his first start for Ohio State.
A week later against Grambling State, Sayin was caught smiling on the Jumbotron reacting to the tweet being displayed on the screen in the Shoe and "This Love" by Maroon 5 playing on the speakers.
Sayin acknowledged he was singing along to the song when it played during the Grambling State game.
One TikTok edit even went viral using Maroon 5 in the background with Sayin highlights.
Ohio State teammate Caleb Downs confirmed on the "Downs 2 Business" podcast that Sayin is in on the bit.
"He's buying into it a little bit, too. He keeps talking about the Maroon 5 stuff," said Caleb Downs on the episode.
Sayin is 4-0 to start his collegiate career with the Buckeyes . The Maroon 5 might be helping.
