Oregon Ducks WR Dakorien Moore not phased by high expectations as true freshman

It's unusual for a true freshman to come into a college football program with this much hype and actually live up to it.

Oregon Ducks wide receiver Dakorien Moore was a five-star recruit and was drawing comparisons to Ohio State's Jeremiah Smith as the next big receiver to hit the college football landscape.

Moore opened some eyes in the Spring Game with some tough catches and as it turns out, that was just the appetizer to what has been the main course. He has been one of the best receivers in the Big Ten and it's partly because of his mature attitude to the entire situation.

Moore wasn't supposed to be Oregon's top receiver this soon, but Evan Stewart went down with a knee injury, putting a lot more responsibilities on his shoulders. A lot of players this young would buckle under that kind of pressure of being the No. 1 guy this soon in their career, but Moore has embraced and ran with it.

"I put more pressure on myself than anything. I don’t really try to think about what everybody’s expectations for me are, especially outside of this building and the team," Moore said. "I hold high standards of myself, and I just try to make sure I do good on the practice field every day. Because whatever you’re doing on the practice field, you know, that’s what you’re gonna put in the game."

Moore has put a lot into the five games the Ducks have played so far. He leads the team in receptions with 19 catches and 296 yards. Moore has two touchdowns.
