The Carolina Panthers added "The Exploding Flower" to their defense on Wednesday.
As first reported by NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport this afternoon, the team has come to terms with free-agent linebacker Christian Rozeboom . The agreement, per Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer , is a two-year deal worth up to $3.5 million.
A four-time first-team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference selection from South Dakota State, Rozeboom cracked into the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Los Angeles Rams in 2020. He'd be a part of the franchise's Super Bowl-winning squad in 2021—which also featured current Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero, their secondary coach and defensive passing game coordinator at the time.
Rozeboom, like much of the team's new free-agent additions, is fresh off a career campaign. He recorded bests in combined tackles (135) and tackles for a loss (five) while also adding his first career sack and his second career interception.
Prior to the Rozeboom news, the Panthers officially announced agreements with defensive linemen Bobby Brown III and Tershawn Wharton , outside linebacker Patrick Jones II and safety Tre'von Moehrig.
