The Carolina Panthers didn't let their center hit the open market after all .
According to Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer , the Panthers and Austin Corbett have agreed upon a one-year deal for the 2025 season. The 29-year-old was set to become a free agent at the start of the new league year this week.
Corbett first joined the Panthers on a three-year, $26.2 million deal in the spring of 2022. He lined up as the starting right guard for his first two seasons, where he played in 21 games.
2024 saw Corbett move to center , despite not having regular-season experience at the position in his six prior NFL campaigns. His transition, which proved to be a relatively successful one early on, was cut short after just five games due to a season-ending biceps tear .
Along with Corbett, the Panthers have also brought back fellow center and restricted free agent Cade Mays—who was officially tendered on Friday.
