Current Finish Historic Regular Season, Will Face Gotham in the NWSL Playoffs
The Current finished the NWSL regular season with an all-time best 65 points, breaking the previous record of 60 set by the Orlando Pride in 2024.
Kansas City ended their campaign with a record of 21-3-2. Remarkably, in 2,340 minutes of NWSL play, the Current trailed for just 120 minutes.
After Dudinha got the Wave ahead in the eighth minute, Debinha equalized for the Current in the 54th minute. Forward Nichelle Prince struck the game-winning goal in the 75th minute. It was the Current’s first comeback victory of the season.
Kansas City will host Gotham FC in the first round of the NWSL playoffs.
