The Los Angeles Rams kicked off their Week 9 prep with a trade.
The Rams acquired Tennessee Titans cornerback Roger McCreary for a conditional fifth/sixth round pick swap, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter . The Titans will get a fifth-round pick closer to the beginning of the round, while the Rams receive the sixth-round pick closer to the end of the round, per Schefter.
The Rams currently own their own and the Titans' sixth-rounder.
This is a move that some speculated would happen ahead of the Nov. 4 trade deadline, as the Rams needed cornerback help with the trio of Darious Williams , Cobie Durant and Emmanuel Forbes playing inconsistently since the team lost Akhello Witherspoon to a long-term injury earlier this year.
McCreary, 25, is a former second-round pick out of Auburn who started 38 games for the Titans over the past four years. His role has diminished recently, but he did have an interception in Tennessee's Week 1 loss and a sack in their Week 8 loss. McCreary has three interceptions, 17 defended passes, four sacks and 253 combined tackles in 55 career games.
This is a low-risk, high-reward trade for L.A. McCreary is an impending free agent and had just a $4.617 million cap hit in 2025. If he performs well, the Rams could keep him around longer. But, like the rest of the cornerback room, the Rams will have a lot of decisions to make this offseason with players potentially hitting free agency.
