The Rangers selected Jones in the third round of the 2019 NHL Draft.
Despite showing some impressive flashes throughout his Rangers tenure, Zones was not able to find a consistent role in the team and oftentimes was scratched out of the lineup.
The 24-year-old defenseman played 31 games during the 2023-24 season and 46 games during the 2024-25 campaign.
Jones was not able to carve out an every-game role with the Rangers and will likely be seeking to go to a team where he'll be able to play more and prove himself at the NHL level.
After a rocky tenure with the Los Angeles Kings , Arthur Kaliyev was placed on waivers in January and was quickly claimed by the Rangers.

However, Kaliyev continued to struggle and similar to Jones, he was not able to earn himself a consistent spot in the lineup.
The 24-year-old forward played in just 14 games for the Blueshirts, recording three goals, one assist, and four points while averaging 11:13 minutes.
