When it comes to expectations, it's hard to enter your college career with higher ones than true freshman wide receiver Dakorien Moore.
He comes to the Oregon Ducks as the highest-rated receiver in program history and the No. 1-ranked WR in the 2025 signing class. Before he stepped foot on campus, there was a belief that he would be one of the leading playmakers for Oregon's offense, and that was prior to veteran WR Evan Stewart being lost for much of the year with a knee injury.
Now, without a single college snap to his name, Moore enters the 2025 season expected to be a focal point of the Ducks ' high-powered offense. According to WR coach Ross Douglas, he's built for that. His mindset and mentality set him apart from the rest.
"I just think the want-to and the desire to be a good football player, I think it's there," Douglas said on Friday. "He's gotten better as training camp goes, and ever since he's been on campus. He's just again, a great kid, very curious, wants to be good, practices hard, and is very competitive. He's going to be a very, very good player for Oregon, and hopefully, he contributes a lot this year."
If the Ducks are going to achieve the high expectations that they hold once again going into this new season, Moore is going to need to step up on the outside. Whether it's Dante Moore or Austin Novosad under center, Oregon's passing game is looking to take a step forward this year, and the true freshman has a good chance to kick off his career in Eugene in a big way.
