The weather for Saturday's Blue Jackets outdoor hockey game is taking a turn toward wintery.
The Blue Jackets will face the Detroit Red Wings in the 2025 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series at Ohio Stadium, which is home to Ohio State's national championship football team and more commonly known around Columbus as simply "The Shoe."
Originally, the National Weather Service in Wilmington forecasted Saturday would be partly sunny with a high of 45. That's not the case anymore.
A forecast released Thursday predicts there will be a chance of snow flurries after 1 p.m. Saturday, and the high will be near 35. There will also be a northwest wind blowing at 13 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. It will still be partly sunny.
Good news for the ice, bad news for chilly fans. Here is what you need to know about the game and the weather.
What happens if the weather is bad for the outdoor game?
The game's start time could be delayed or rescheduled due to weather, safety concerns or any other reason NHL representatives may choose, The Dispatch previously reported.
If NHL representatives decide to move the game to a different day entirely, it will be on March 2. Tickets for the original March 1 game will still be accepted if the game is rescheduled.
No ticket refunds or exchanges will be permitted if the game is rescheduled, according to the NHL.
Refunds or exchanges from authorized ticket vendors will only be permitted if the game is canceled or altered to prevent some tickets from being used.
