According to NFL reporter Jordan Schultz, Pittsburgh Steelers starting strong safety DeShon Elliott suffered a knee injury last week against the New York Jets and he will miss at least a couple of weeks. Schultz says the injury is being called an MCL sprain.
Elliott went down early in last week's win over the Jets and just watching it over, it looks like Elliott really got lucky that the injury didn't turn out to be much worse. Schultz says the team is hoping to have Elliott back for the team's Week Four game in Ireland against the Minnesota Vikings .
When Elliott went down, veteran Chuck Clark came in and took over those reps next to free safety Juan Thornhill .
This week the Steelers have their home opener and will square off against the Seattle Seahawks. With Elliott out, Clark is in line to get his first start with the Steelers. Clark came to the Steelers from the Jets where he started 12 games in 2024. For his career, Clark has 75 starts, having spent much of his career with the Baltimore Ravens .
