The Pittsburgh Steelers have one of the most passionate and well-traveled fan bases in the NFL — which is being projected to take over MetLife Stadium against the New York Jets in Week 1.
According to ESPN's Rich Cimini, the Vivid Seats fan forecast projects that 48% of those in attendance at MetLife Stadium will be Steelers fans. This almost 50-50 split, while tame by typical Steelers Nation standards, would still be an astonishing feat for a regular season opener in enemy territory.
With the Steelers scheduled to travel the most miles of any AFC North team, having arguably the biggest global fan base will certainly pay dividends for those long flights out west and overseas in Ireland.
Whether you're a Steelers fan in attendance ready to help take over MetLife Stadium or you're looking to watch Pittsburgh face off against the New York Jets on TV, the action-packed contest kicks off on September 7 at 1:00 p.m. EST.
