- Tennessee football top 25 ranking ahead of playing Alabama in US LBM Coaches Poll
The 2025 college football season enters Week 8.
Tennessee recorded its second SEC win during Week 7 . The Vols (5-1, 2-1 SEC) defeated Arkansas (2-4, 0-2 SEC), 34-31, at Neyland Stadium.
"Ultimately, found a way to win at the end," Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel said. "Made it close at the end, as well. Offensively, got to finish the previous drive. Defensively, got to get a stop at the end. Knew it was going to be a tough ball game. A lot of unknowns offensively going into it. I didn't know what the defensive structure was going to look like. You know, early in the football game, we targeted a couple of things wrong in the run game that hurt us a little bit. Thought potentially that could happen because of unknowns going into it, and then, find a way to make some things happen offensively in the middle part of the game.

"Defensively, love the way we started in the second half. Fourth quarter, obviously, want to play a little bit better, defensively. Special teams were solid tonight, so it's a good win."
