TEMPE, Ariz. — Tight end Terrance Carter Jr. suffered an injury to his left ankle, then returned to the game and aggravated the injury during Texas Tech football 's game at Arizona State on Saturday, Oct. 18.Carter initially was injured in the second quarter of the Red Raiders ' 26-22 loss and came out of the game. He returned, only to reinjure the same ankle, Tech coach Joey McGuire said. After the game, Carter left the field on crutches and wearing an orthopedic boot.
"He hurt it early on the inside (of the ankle)," McGuire said, "and whenever he went out, he hurt it on the outside. So he's kind of got double shot there, outside and inside. So we'll see, throughout the week, how he feels."
Carter and Missouri 's Brett Norfleet went into the week as the FBS co-leaders in touchdown catches by a tight end with five apiece.
