Texas A&M stays put in the latest CFP rankings reveal

It took an all-time comeback performance and a near-perfect second half for the Texas A&M Aggies to remain undefeated, defeating South Carolina 31-30 in their final regular-season game at Kyle Field.

The Aggies maintained their unanimous No. 3 ranking in the major polls and once again found another way to secure a victory. Staying at the same CFP ranking as their polling position makes sense, as they didn’t do much to sway the committee’s opinion. That’s fair, unlike the Indiana vs. Penn State matchup last weekend, which was a close contest.

A&M had to overcome a 30-3 deficit and deliver a crucial stop at the end of the game when the Gamecocks had a chance to win with a field goal. However, with the victory—while both Alabama and Texas suffered losses— the Aggies are now in an almost guaranteed lock for a playoff spot. Even if they drop the game to the Longhorns in a few weeks, it would be difficult to argue against including an 11-1 Aggie team in the CFP.

Here is the full Top 25 based on the committee’s third week of rankings for the 2025-2026 season:

  1. Oregon Ducks (9-1)

  2. BYU Cougars (9-1)

  3. Utah Utes (8-2)

  4. USC Trojans (8-2)

  5. Tennessee (8-2)

  6. Illinois (7-3)

  7. Missouri (7-3)

  8. Houston (8-2)

  9. Tulane (8-2)

Texas A&M will return to Kyle Field this weekend for Senior Day to face Samford, just one week after its historic comeback victory over the Gamecocks. Kickoff against the Bulldogs is scheduled for 11 a.m. CT and will be broadcast live on SEC Network+.
