Texas Tech football adds 1,000-yard receiver from FCS through transfer portal
The Texas Tech football team continues to add to its wide receiver group through the transfer portal.
Incarnate Word transfer receiver Roy Alexander has committed to the Red Raiders , multiple outlets reported Monday. Alexander has one year of eligibility remaining after spending his first four years at the FCS level — three at UAlbany and one at Incarnate Word.
Alexander (5-foot-10, 200 pounds) had a breakout campaign in 2024 with the Cardinals in which he caught 100 passes for 1,108 yards and 13 touchdowns. He ranked 10th in the nation in yards and second in touchdowns, which included a pair of games with three touchdown grabs.
This marks the second receiver commitment in as many days as Micah Hudson announced Sunday he'll return to the Red Raiders for the 2025 season. He previously transferred to Texas A&M during the winter transfer portal window in December before re-entering the portal during the spring window.
The Red Raiders lost a pair of receivers to the portal in the spring window with Aiden Meeks and L.J. Johnson Jr. each deciding to depart after the spring game.
