UNC basketball clash with Kentucky gets tipoff time

The opponents on North Carolina's 2025-26 basketball schedule are already known but as we inch closer and closer to the start of the season, more information like times and broadcast are being revealed. And for the ACC/SEC Challenge, the Tar Heels now know what time they will face off against Kentucky.

The conferences released dates and times for the competition with North Carolina traveling to Lexington and tipping off against the Wildcats on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 9:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. It's the second game of a double-header that night with Duke playing at Florida preceeding it.

It's a later-than-usual start time for these games but with ESPN having UNC, Duke , Kentucky and Florida in two games, it should be ratings galore.

The Wildcats have won the last two meetings between the two teams, winning at the CBS Sports Classic in 2021 and 2023. Since 2009, the Tar Heels are 4-8 against the Wildcats. But they do lead the overall series 25–18.
