UNC basketball to face off against BYU in preseason
The North Carolina Tar Heels will head to Utah for the first time in two decades this Fall as they will play an exhibition game against the BYU Cougars.
The program announced on Tuesday that they will face off against BYU and top recruit A.J. Dybantsa on Friday, October 24th at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City. It will be one of two exhibition games for the Tar Heels this season as they will host Winston-Salem State on October 29th.
North Carolina hasn't played in Salt Lake City since the 1988 NCAA Tournament, when they beat North Texas and Loyola Marymount.
The Cougars are coming off an impressive season last year under first-year head coach Kevin Young, finishing fourth in the Big 12 and making it to the Sweet 16 before losing to Alabama . They will return a very talented roster led by the addition of Dybansta as well as transfers like Rob Wright and Kennard Davis.
For North Carolina, this will be a good early-season test as they welcome in a new-look roster featuring top 10 recruit Caleb Wilson as well as a strong transfer portal class headlined with Henri Veesaar.
