'We're coming': Texas A&M OL shares sky-high 2025 expectations

Going back to Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko's first offseason with the program, landing then-senior guard Ar'maj Reed-Adams from Kansas was expected to make an impact in the run game, but his leadership skills and vocal support for the program were fully showcased during the final day of SEC media days on Thursday afternoon.

Throughout the offseason, two of the program's three player representatives this week, linebacker Taurean York and Adams , have been placed on numerous preseason awards lists and are seen as two of the top prospects at their position ahead of the 2026 NFL draft. Even more so, Pro Football Focus ranked Adams as the best run blocker in the country, and will more than likely be the player OC Collin Klein schemes up as the primary blocker throughout the 2025 season.

During the final part of the player availability for the Aggie and national media, Adams didn't shy away from expressing his high expectations for Texas A&M following the Aggies' underwhelming 8-5 finish last season after starting the year 7-1. With Adams' injury issues behind him, committing to Texas A&M out of the portal was one of his best career decisions to date.

"It was clear-cut and easy. Having a coach like Elko, it's fun… He always says, 'Have I lied to y'all yet?' We all say, 'No.' Also, how family-oriented the coaches are."

After just one season in College Station, working under O-line coach Adam Cushing has led him to the conclusion that Texas A&M is the destination for offensive line development, vocally reaching out to future O-line prospects in the process.

"Every offensive lineman in the country should want to come play at Texas A&M."

You'd be hard-pressed to find a player this week who doesn't believe his team is out of the running for the College Football Playoff, but in defense of Adams , he can realistically voice his astronomical expectations in good faith based on the talent and experience the 2025 roster will field every Saturday. Still, a certain rival fan base was just gifted a quote that Adams will stick by until further notice.

"The goals we have aren't lofty. We were one play away from being in the SEC Championship game… We're coming."

Again, this is rooted in reality, as the Aggies were indeed a handful of better drives against the Texas Longhorns from facing Georgia in the SEC Championship game, and should be in much better shape on both sides of the ball if that chance were to surface once more.
