- 2 Tight Ends Put Pen to Paper as Vikings Solidify Depth at Achy Roster Spot

Part of the problem with losing TE2 Josh Oliver is that the Minnesota Vikings no longer have a glue guy for the offense, somebody who did the dirty work to allow his teammates to thrive. Maybe the recent additions will help.
Earlier in the day, the Minnesota Vikings announced that a pair of tight ends have been signed: Bryson Nesbit and Devin Culp. Consider the team's official update : "The #Vikings have signed tight ends Devin Culp and Bryson Nesbit to the practice squad. WR Michael Briscoe has been placed on practice squad/injured."
Currently, the tight end depth chart appears as follows, at least as it relates to the 53-man roster:
TE1 T.J. Hockenson
TE2 Gavin Bartholomew
TE3 Ben Yurosek
In a basic sense, there's an accomplished veteran at the top who is enjoying a rejuvenation working alongside Kyler Murray (Hockenson). There's then 6th-Round sophomore who is showing some upside as a pass catcher (Bartholomew) alongside a UDFA sophomore who can grind as a blocker (Yurosek).
In a pinch, rookie fullback Max Bredeson could get used as a tight end, something he did quite a lot for Michigan prior to going in the 5th of the 2026 NFL Draft. Otherwise, the only other in-house option is Cam Grandy, who has been on the practice squad all season.

Of the two names above, Nesbit may be somewhat familiar to a lot of Vikings fans.
The young lad got added as an undrafted pickup following the 2025 NFL Draft. He spent all of last year on Minnesota's practice squad and has hung around in Minnesota's roster orbit for part of 2026. A homecoming isn't a major surprise.
Meanwhile, Culp has been looking to find a lasting home in the NFL within a roughly similar time period as Nesbit. He got drafted by the Buccaneers in the 7th Round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Since then, Culp has been involved in eighteen games, turning his 7 targets into 6 catches for 94 yards and 1 touchdown.
Both of these new signings would do well to begin by proving helpful on specials. Essentially, go out there and replicate what RB DeeJay Dallas can do. Proving successful in that ambition will lead to more opportunity in Minnesota or elsewhere.

Bryson Nesbit , 24, is listed as being 6'5″ and 228 pounds, meaning he's built like a large receiver. Devin Culp, 26, has a beefier build at 6'4″ and 237 pounds.
Next up for the Vikings is a Week 8 game against the Lions. That tilt will take place in Motown.
