The Oklahoma City Thunder have selected Kentucky's Otega Oweh with the No. 41 pick of the 2026 NBA draft. They made a trade-down with the Miami Heat to acquire the second-round pick and cash considerations. In return, they sent the No. 37 pick, which was used on Louisville's Ryan Conwell .
Oweh played in four collegiate seasons from 2022-26. He spent his first two years at Oklahoma before transferring to Kentucky. He averaged 18.6 points on 46.5% shooting, 4.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists this past season. He shot 33.3% from 3 on 3.8 attempts. The 23-year-old is a 6-foot-5, 216-pound guard.
Nice to see a former Sooner join the Thunder. Oweh will be a fan favorite from the jump because of that. Will be interesting to see if OKC adds him to a two-way deal. This is about the range where guys get signed onto them in the NBA draft.
The Thunder added Michigan's Aday Mara with the No. 12 pick and Iowa's Bennett Stirtz with the No. 16 pick of the 2026 NBA draft. They acquired the latter in a trade-up move with the Memphis Grizzlies . In return, they sent back the No. 17 pick and two future second-round picks.
