A day after bringing in several prospects for workouts , the Washington Wizards are expected to host their third round of pre-draft workouts, with this group having some extremely recognizable names.
Duke Forward Maliq Brown
Maliq Brown is a 6'9" senior forward who spent two years at Syracuse University and two years at Duke University. Brown has an extremely high motor on both sides of the ball, and often does a team's "dirty work", as he can guard all five positions, crash the glass and impact possessions. While Brown only averaged 4.9 PPG and 5.2 RPG this previous season, he made a strong impact on Duke being one of the best teams in all of college basketball this season.
South Carolina Guard Meechie Johnson
Meechie Johnson had quite the collegiate career, as he started playing for Ohio State University during the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons before transferring to the University of South Carolina. Johnson played two seasons from 2022-2024 at USC before transferring back to OSU for the 2024-25 season. However, Johnson would ultimately end back up at South Carolina for the 2025-26 season where he averaged a career high 17.2 PPG, and 4.3 APG a game. Johnson has an intriguing blend of ball handling and shot creation skills which could translate well to the NBA.
Purdue Forward Trey Kaufman-Renn
There are certain players that just simply understand how college basketball works, and Trey Kaufman-Renn is one of those players. Averaging 14.2 PPG and 8.3 RPG on 57.8% FG in his senior year, Kaufman-Renn is ready to make the jump up to the big leagues. Kaufman-Renn has an extremely high basketball IQ, and by pairing that up with his inside-out versatility and strong rebounding prowess, Kaufman-Renn could be a high impact player out of the second round.
Purdue Guard Fletcher Loyer
If you're a guard from Purdue University, odds are you're pretty good at basketball -- that's Fletcher Loyer. Throughout his four year career at Purdue, Loyer averaged 12.3 PPG on stellar 41.1% from deep. Loyer has a strong basketball IQ paired with an elite jump shot, and could be an impact player on the offensive end in the NBA. Someone like Sam Merrill from the Cleveland Cavilers, or Duncan Robinson on the Detroit Pistons .
Texas Guard Tramon Mark
Tramon Mark is one of those players that EVERY contending team wants on their roster. Mark is an excellent on-ball defender, and excels at communicating and leading his team like he did at the University of Texas for the past two seasons. Additionally, Mark has a silky smooth left-handed jump-shot that could translate nicely to the NBA. Overall, Mark is a strong second round draft option for numerous contending teams looking for backcourt help.
Louisville Guard Isaac McKneely
Isaac McKneely is one of those names that most college basketball fans know, due to his time at the University of Virginia from 2022-2025. However, McKneely would play his fourth and final season at Louisville University this past year and would showcase why he's worthy of a draft selection. McKneely is as good of a jump shooter you'll see in this draft, as he shot 41.0% from beyond the arc on six attempts a game throughout his collegiate career. McKneely's shooting could be enough to get him a contract with an NBA squad this upcoming season.
