2026 NFL Draft scouting report: Miller Moss, Quarterback, Louisville
Louisville quarterback Miller Moss is next to receive his scouting report for the 2026 NFL Draft, and is the last of the quarterbacks to be hit before we transition to running backs. Moss bided his time at USC , getting his chance, then ultimately moving schools to close out his collegiate career. When it's all said and done, what does his report look like? Let's talk about it.
Moss, a former four-star recruit out of Bishop Alemany High School in Mission Hills, California, committed to USC, where he would sit behind eventual Heisman Trophy winner and first overall pick Caleb Williams . Moss would burst onto the scene with a monster Holiday Bowl performance and built on that with a stellar game-winning drive to open the 2024 season against LSU in Las Vegas. Here are his collegiate career totals:
-
6,148 yards
-
43 touchdowns
-
17 interceptions
-
65.1% completion percentage
Miller Moss can dice up defences on the short and intermediate throws. His tight throwing motion, paired with a stunningly quick release, gets his passes where they need to go, and fast. Passes over the middle of the field are his bread and butter. Footwork always appears clean and sharp, never wavering by a collapsing pocket. Moss got the green light to make audibles at the line of scrimmage, which shows both his coaches' trust and a high level of understanding of defensive coverages. He can also take a beating and get back up every time.
Notice how we highlighted the passes over the middle of the field. This is because he lacks the juice to accurately get passes out to the boundaries. His lack of pure arm talent also leaves his downfield shots landing off target, often floating there. Moss does not have what NFL teams now look for in terms of athleticism and the ability to scramble; it is just not his game. He often leaves the ball low when scrambling, which can lead to fumbles.
Miller Moss flourishes in rhythm, on-time throws. He would excel in a play-action heavy offense, but you can't ask him to go make a play to pick up key third downs. With such a limited ceiling, he gets an undrafted grade, but could easily find a spot on a practice squad as a UDFA.
