2027 NFL Mock Draft: Is Texas QB Arch Manning projected No. 1?

The 2026 NFL Draft is over . Six former Texas Longhorns were drafted between the second and the seventh rounds. But next year, the Longhorns will be one of the biggest stories when the 2027 draft starts in Washington DC. In fact, the first name called could be a certain UT quarterback.

USA TODAY Sports is out with a "way-to-early' 2027 NFL Mock Draft. Writer Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz says there are four QBs that will be the focus all year to see which one comes out on top and is drafted first. The quartet of quarterbacks is Texas' Arch Manning , Oregon's Dante Moore , CJ Carr of Notre Dame and Texas Tech's Brendan Sorsby .

Who will be No. 1? The mock draft tabs Manning as the No. 1 pick. The hype around Austin will be epic. Three former Longhorns have been the No. 1 overall pick: LB Tommy Nobis in 1966, RB Earl Campbell in 1978 and Kenneth Sims in 1982. Manning would be the first in more than four decades.

But it doesn't stop at Arch Manning. The early mock draft projects four of the top ten players taken will be taken in the top ten. Offensive tackle Trevor Goosby, WR Cam Coleman and OLB Colin Simmons are all tabbed to be first round picks next year.

A remarkable forecast that shows how "all-in" Texas coach Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns program is this season.
