3 draft prospects for Colts' to watch on Day 1 of NFL combine testing
On Thursday, the defensive linemen and linebackers will go through the on-field workouts at the 2026 NFL combine . These are big positions of need for the Indianapolis Colts this offseason.
When meeting with reporters on Tuesday, GM Chris Ballard mentioned that addressing the front seven would be a priority.
"The draft we think it's good on the defensive side of the football, especially in the front seven," Ballard said . "But it's a definite area that we need to address."
Depth is needed at all three position groups. At defensive end specifically, more pass rush juice is needed. Linebacker needs a greater coverage presence, and building out the defensive tackle rotation will be on the to-do list as well.
So with those position groups taking center stage on Thursday, here are a few draft prospects to keep your eyes on.
Rayshaun Benny, DT, Michigan
Measuring in at 6-4 - 305, Benny logged 18 pressures last season and was a top-graded run defender from the interior by PFF's metrics.
Nadame Tucker, EDGE, Western Michigan
Tucker put together a huge season at Western Michigan in 2025, recording 61 quarterback pressures and 14 sacks, according to PFF. He also held his own in the run game as well.
Anthony Hill, LB, Texas
Hill has played nearly 2,000 defensive snaps over the last three seasons. During that span, he has generated 60 quarterback pressures and logged 227 total tackles.
In coverage, he's allowed 8.3 yards per reception with three interceptions and two pass breakups. While mostly playing from the box, Hill Jr. has experience in the slot and lining up along the defensive front.
