4-Star WR Quentin Burrell Impressed by Indiana Hoosiers During Campus Visit

The Indiana Hoosiers continue to capitalize on the momentum from their historic 16-0 championship season, using the spotlight to attract top national recruits and bringing them to campus.

Head coach Curt Cignetti and his staff hosted a loaded group of prospects over the weekend — including five-star wide receiver Monshun Sales — tying the visit schedule to the celebrations of the program’s first football national title.

The Hoosiers’ wide receiver production during the championship run has become a major recruiting talking point, thus the appeal for players belonging to the 2026 and 2027 classes.

Multiple Hoosiers pass catchers capitalized on the title run, with Elijah Stuart and Omar Cooper Jr. ranked among the top-75 players to be selected during the 2026 NFL Draft.

That development seems to be resonating with current elite high school receivers who are finalizing the evaluation of their long-term fits and their next destination on their way to turning pro.

One of the headliners in Bloomington was four-star wide receiver Quentin Burrell, a top-50 recruit in the nation from Chicago-area powerhouse Mount Carmel, and the No. 9 receiver per 247Sports Composite ranks.

Burrell spent the weekend on campus meeting with the coaching staff and touring facilities in what had been a long-anticipated visit for both sides, as reported by On3's Steve Wiltfong on Monday.

“The visit was great,” Burrell said. “I’m glad I finally had the chance to get to campus and visit with Coach Cignetti and Coach (Mike) Shanahan and Coach (Eddie) Burk. They are confident in their ability to develop receivers and they have proven it with two going into draft this year.”

Burrell pointed directly to Indiana’s recent receiver development as a key takeaway from the trip, given his own production in high school. The elite recruit also emphasized that Indiana’s approach to roster building stood out during discussions with the staff.

“They like the fact that I have produced and been successful in my high school career so far, including winning state championships,” Burrell said. “They have set themselves up nicely for next season through the portal, but they still want to bring in top high school players and develop them.”

According to Wiltfong, Indiana is now firmly in the lead group for Burrell, alongside Michigan and Notre Dame . For now, On3's experts are giving the Fighting Irish an 82.8% chance of landing Burrell, with Indiana still out of the picture.

The visit, however, appears to have left the door wide open for a future decision to join the Hoosiers, with Burrell signaling his interest in visiting Bloomington later this year.

“I’ll be back down for a spring practice to check them out,” Burrel acknowledged.
