A report by Gazzetta.grreveals that Olympiacos have received a substantial offer from an undisclosed team in Dubai to secure the services of Mehdi Taremi .
The Iranian forward has been edging towards an exit from the Piraeus-based outfit since the start of the summer transfer window, and the time for that is believed to have finally arrived.
Taremi hit double digits last season with the Red and Whites , playing in the Greek Super League and the UEFA Champions League, netting 12 times in 34 appearances in both competitions. He was also called up by Iran National Team head coach Amir Ghalenoei for the 2026 World Cup in the Americas. He appeared thrice in the group stage matches before his country headed out of the tournament.
The offer from Dubai is expected to be of such stature that Olympiacos have started evaluating it, and Taremi's departure could happen within the next 48 hours. The 34-year-old has been out of head coach Jose Luis Mendilibar's plans for quite some time now, as he was left out of the European list alongside fellow striker Roman Yaremchuk .
Taremi has a year left on his current contract with Thrylos ; however, he has reportedly asked the club management to find an exit for him this summer. Personal terms are predicted not to be much of a worry for the Dubai-based team, as the Middle Eastern clubs have rewarded players handsomely for one final big payday. Taremi is set to join the list.
Olympiacos have already reached advanced negotiations with Mexican club Chivas de Guadalajara for the signing of Armando Gonzalez . The 23-year-old forward has agreed on personal terms with the Greek giants. Following an official agreement on transfer fees between the two parties involved, Gonzalez will sign a four-year contract for Olympiacos with the option of an additional season.
Final details are being sorted out in the deal as Chivas continue to push to retain 20% resale value on the player and ask for $10 million in upfront fees plus $3 million in variables. The Red and Whites have accepted most of their demands, including the transfer fees. Greek media has reported that an agreement is in place, but Chivas are yet to give it an official nod.
Gonzalez is expected to fly for Athens as soon as his current side gives him the green light. He will undergo medicals in Piraeus and will be unveiled as a new Olympiacos player.
