49ers star confused why QB Brock Purdy doesn't get more respect

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy , in the eyes of the greater NFL world, at least, still isn't really seen as one of the better quarterbacks in the league. He's led his team to the postseason in three out of his four NFL seasons and continues to put up solid numbers in the ultra competitive NFC West.

And yet, 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk says he continues to see his quarterback be disrespected.

"I don't know what it's gonna take for this guy to finally get the respect I think he truly deserves," Juszczyk told Jim Rome this week. "Season in, season out, he plays tremendously. I don't know what it is. I don't know if it's just that he wasn't a first-round draft pick. If that's just going to be the story of his entire career and kind of be held against him. Maybe. But I love the guy. As a person, as my quarterback, as a football player. He is the dude."

Juszczyk mentioned how competitive Purdy is off the field, and added that he "loves" to see that type of spirit from his quarterback. He added that while Purdy may be frustrated by the lack of respect on the outside, the young quarterback "does such an incredible job blocking out the noise."

Purdy has an impressive 30-15 record with a 67.9% career completion percentage during his career thus far. He's also thrown 84 touchdowns to just 37 interceptions over that span. The 26-year-old quarterback is hitting his prime years, too, so it stands to reason he could take a step up in his fifth year at the helm of this offseason.
