5 Rams Veterans With Most to Prove Ahead of Training Camp

Football is around the corner, and soon the Los Angeles Rams will get their 2026 season underway.
The weight of the world appears to be on the Rams, as they enter this season with Super Bowl or Bust expectations. That is the price they put on their head because of how they retooled their roster.

All eyes will be on how they perform from start to finish, as they'll be heavily scrutinized one way or the other. The Rams enter the 2026 season with massive expectations, and if they hope to meet them, several players will need to elevate their play — especially the veterans.
Here are the five Rams veterans with most to prove heading into training camp.
5. Stetson Bennett
Bennett is heading into his fifth season and has yet to establish himself as the QB2. He has a great chance to do that as he'll be competing for that spot against rookie first-round quarterback Ty Simpson.
Can Bennett hold onto the backup role with Simpson waiting on the wings?

If so, many will question whether Simpson was the right guy to be Matthew Stafford's successor.
This is likely Bennett's last chance to convince the Rams that he belongs on the 53-man roster beyond 2026.
4. Larrell Murchison
Murchison is more of a depth piece for the Rams; however, this one has more to do with it being a prove-it situation.
The Rams landed him back on a one-year deal, and he needs to show that he can be a dependable rotational defensive lineman.
A solid to good 2026 season could land him either another one-year deal or a longer-term deal, whether with the Rams or another team.

3. Davante Adams
Adams is the best player on this list and a sure-fire first-ballot Hall of Famer. But this isn't a question of whether he's a great player – it's whether he can prove that he can still be a great player.
The Rams are going to need him to.
Adams looked like an excellent complement to Puka Nacua before his injury, but age and durability are legitimate question marks now.
The Rams are going to need more from him than a league-leading 14 touchdowns; they're going to need him to be healthy and playing his best ball down the stretch of the season and into the playoffs.
2. Emmanuel Forbes Jr.
This is a big p rove-it season for Forbes .

The Rams decided to decline his $12.6 million fifth-year option, and a big 2026 season could land him a great deal in the 2027 offseason.
The 25-year-old will serve as a backup piece, but his play (if exceptional) could turn the Rams' cornerback room from really good to the best in the league.
Forbes has to prove that he is no longer that developing defensive back; he has to prove that he has arrived.
1. Tyler Higbee
The true veteran of the group, and the longest tenured Ram by a mile.
Higbee has been a staple of the offense for years, but he's now at the latter stages of his career. With Terrance Ferguson viewed as the future and Davis Allen continuing to develop, Higbee has to prove that he can still be a reliable contributor.
If he cannot hold off the young tight ends, he may not be able to play out the rest of his contract.
