Steph Curry has set the standard for NBA shooting for more than a decade. But the bar gets harder to measure when the player being discussed is Duncan Robinson , a shooter whose game has long been built on a quick release and constant movement.
Robinson and Max Strus know that world well. They spent years together in Miami, sharing workouts and pushing each other to become better shooters. That history gave Strus a close-up view of Robinson that most fans never get to see.

Max Strus Puts Duncan Robinson In Steph Curry Territory
Strus settled the debate during a newly released interview on the Link With JB YouTube channel , where he was asked who the better shooter was between him and Robinson. The former Miami Heat wing did not pick himself. Instead, Strus gave Robinson a strong endorsement and placed his shooting in the same conversation as Curry.

"Duncan's got it. One of the best I've ever seen. I think he's up there with Steph Curry to be honest with you. Phenomenal," Strus said. The comment stands out because Strus had years of experience watching Robinson shoot from close range.

Strus and Robinson are friends, which makes the praise they receive even more special. Strus joined the Heat in 2020 with an Exhibit 10 deal. Robinson helped him settle in, improve his footwork and work on his shooting.
Their bond grew from two shooters working out together to one player helping the other develop a skill that became key to his career.
Strus also saw Robinson in practice, where there was no game pressure and no crowd to hide behind. He has described Robinson's shooting sessions as the kind of work where the ball seems to keep finding the net.

That daily view helps explain why Strus was comfortable putting Robinson near Curry when the subject was pure shooting.

The comparison still has a clear limit. Curry is not only one of the greatest shooters ever. He can create threes off the dribble, fire from deep range and force defenses to react before he even reaches the ball. Robinson's value comes from a different skill set built around movement, timing and a lightning-quick release.

That difference does not weaken Strus' point. He was talking about the shot itself, and few people had a better seat than a teammate who shared the practice floor with Robinson for years.
Curry may remain the name that ends most shooting debates. Strus just gave Robinson a rare place beside him.
