- 8 players cut by the Eagles who could get claimed off waivers
The Philadelphia Eagles reduced their roster to 53 players Sunday, but the next stage of roster construction may prevent some of their preferred practice squad candidates from returning. Players with fewer than four credited seasons are subject to waivers after being cut. Teams have until 1 p.m. ET Monday to submit claims, with priority determined by the 2026 NFL draft order. A claimed player must join his new team's active roster.
Philadelphia waived 26 players while assembling its initial 53-man roster . Several could receive attention because of their draft pedigree, physical traits or positional value.

Myles Hinton , offensive tackle
Hinton may be the most vulnerable Eagles player on the waiver wire because teams are constantly looking for developmental tackles.
The 2025 sixth-round pick possesses uncommon size at 6-foot-7 and 323 pounds. He can play tackle or guard and has already spent a full year inside an NFL development program. Hinton did not win one of Philadelphia's reserve offensive-line jobs, but another organization may view his size and versatility as worthy of an active-roster spot.
Cameron Williams , offensive tackle
Williams faces a situation similar to Hinton's. Philadelphia drafted him in the sixth round in 2025, giving another team two seasons of contractual control if it submits a successful claim.

Williams still requires development, but tackles with his 6-foot-6, 317-pound frame are difficult to find after the draft. A rebuilding team could afford to carry him as a long-term project instead of expecting immediate contributions.
Deontae Lawson , linebacker
Lawson entered the NFL as an undrafted rookie, but his background at Alabama and ability to diagnose plays should generate some consideration.
Durability and special-teams value will influence how teams evaluate him. Philadelphia may want Lawson for its practice squad , but a linebacker-needy club could decide his instincts and developmental potential warrant a claim.

Keyshawn James-Newby, edge rusher
James-Newby was one of Philadelphia's three seventh-round selections in April. The Eagles ultimately kept five outside linebackers, leaving no room for the former New Mexico pass rusher.
Young edge defenders are frequently claimed because teams can develop them while using them on special teams. James-Newby is not ready for a major defensive role, but his initial quickness and effort could appeal to an organization seeking a fifth or sixth pass rusher.
Cole Wisniewski, safety
Wisniewski is another 2026 seventh-round selection who did not survive Philadelphia's final reductions.

At 6-foot-3 and 219 pounds, he possesses the size to play near the line of scrimmage and cover kicks. The combination of defensive versatility and special-teams potential gives him a better chance of attracting interest than a young player limited to one role.
Isaiah Bolden , cornerback
Bolden has the type of physical profile teams are willing to reconsider. The 6-foot-2 cornerback offers size, speed and previous NFL special-teams experience.
Philadelphia kept nine defensive backs and placed Jakorian Bennett on injured reserve with a designation to return. Bolden could still return to the Eagles if he clears waivers, but cornerback depth problems around the league may create an opportunity elsewhere.

Cameron Latu , tight end
Latu has spent time with multiple NFL organizations since San Francisco drafted him in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He has not developed into a consistent offensive contributor, but his size and blocking potential remain useful.
Tight end depth is often difficult to maintain during the regular season. A team that kept only two or three at the position could claim Latu as a developmental blocker and special-teams contributor.
Carson Steele , running back
Steele offers more than conventional running back depth. He can handle short-yardage work, contribute on special teams and potentially fill some assignments associated with a fullback.

The Eagles kept Saquon Barkley , Tank Bigsby and Will Shipley . Steele's physical running style could interest a team seeking a fourth running back with immediate special-teams value.
Who is most likely to get claimed?
Hinton and Williams face the greatest risk because young offensive tackles rarely reach the waiver wire without generating interest. James-Newby and Wisniewski also carry value as recent draft selections whose rookie contracts can be controlled for several seasons.
