The New York Yankees have been on the struggle bus lately, losers of six straight games to bring their record to 48-37 on the 2026 MLB season. The Yankees have spent about the last month without superstar Aaron Judge , who has been dealing with a ribcage injury, and although they did a strong job of holding down the fort initially, they'd certainly love to have him back sooner rather than later.
Recently, Judge got real on the team's struggles without him in the lineup, saying that "it's not great" and that he feels that there's been "a little lack of focus," per Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News on X, formerly Twitter.
"We just gotta dial it in," he added.
Judge also spoke, or really didn't speak, on the state of his injury.
"I've got nothing for you. You know how it goes around here – guys can feel good, feel bad, but you've got to wait on images. I'll give you a good update when we get some imaging," he said, per Bryan Hoch of MLB on X.
Judge was having another elite season for the Yankees when his injury occurred, which was initially thought to be a slight ailment but has now extended to around a month, with no return date in sight.
Some have encouraged the Yankees to scour the trade market for reinforcements, both in the hitting and pitching departments, in order to help stop the bleeding, while others are just hoping the team can wait out the injury absence and eventually turn things around naturally.
In any case, the Yankees will next hit the field on Tuesday afternoon against the Detroit Tigers at home.
