Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and head coach Mike McCarthy are set to make NFL history next season.
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and head coach Mike McCarthy have already made plenty of NFL history in their careers. However, with the four-time NFL MVP officially agreeing to return to the Steelers in 2026, the head coach-quarterback duo is now set to make even more history next season.
According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter , McCarthy and Rodgers will almost certainly move past Buffalo Bills head coach Marv Levy and quarterback Jim Kelly for the eighth-most wins by any head coach-starting quarterback duo in the Super Bowl Era.
Rodgers and McCarthy have won 107 games together, including the playoffs, which is just one win shy of Levy and Kelly.
That means McCarthy and Rodgers could move up the ranks as soon as Week 2, if they defeat the defending AFC champion New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons in their home opener.
However, even if the Steelers are unable to rattle off a pair of wins to start the season, it is only inevitable that McCarthy and Rodgers get the record, barring an injury to the 42-year-old, of course.
Rodgers was able to stay relatively healthy last season, missing just one game with a left wrist fracture.
If Rodgers can keep a clean bill of health once again in 2026, the Steelers are too talented of a team to not earn him and McCarthy their latest NFL record.
Last season, Rodgers led Pittsburgh to an AFC North title while passing for 3,322 yards, 24 touchdowns and just seven interceptions.
Meanwhile, McCarthy has a 174-112-2 career record and .608 winning percentage. He also led the Green Bay Packers to defeat the Steelers in Super Bowl XLV.
